BLAST

Describe it. Review it. Run it.
BLAST is an interval timer for workouts, focus sessions and anything else worth measuring. Describe the session you want out loud and on-device intelligence lays out the intervals for you — then review, edit and save only when it looks right.

Why BLAST exists

Building an interval timer should not feel like programming one.

You already know the workout or focus session you want. BLAST lets you say it naturally — “eight rounds of twenty seconds hard and ten seconds rest, with a two minute warm up” — and turns that description into a structured timer. You stay in control: nothing is saved until you have reviewed it, and every interval can still be edited.

  • Build a timer by describing the session out loud
  • Keep speech recognition and generation on the device
  • Review and edit every interval before saving
  • Follow runs from a pocket with tones and optional spoken cues
  • Control an active session from Siri, Live Activities and Control Centre
  • Run the same timer on Apple Watch with taptic feedback
Key features

Made to disappear once the session starts.

BLAST handles the setup, timing and cues so you can focus on the workout, study block, meditation or routine itself.

01
Describe ItSpeak the timer you want in everyday language. On-device transcription and generation create a proposed workout that you can review, correct or describe again.
02
Flexible interval plansBuild rounds with work, rest, warm-up and cool-down intervals, save reusable timers, or start from built-in templates such as HIIT, Pomodoro and meditation.
03
Run without watching the screenEach interval type has its own colour and cue pitch, with optional spoken names so the session can stay understandable from a pocket.
04
Siri, Live Activity & Control CentreStart and control sessions with Siri, pause or skip from a Live Activity, and launch a chosen timer from Control Centre.
05
Apple WatchUse the standalone Watch app with the same timers, taptic cues and a workout session that keeps the run active when your wrist drops.
06
Sync, history & widgetsKeep your timer library in sync through iCloud, review completed sessions in the calendar, and surface streaks and totals on the Home Screen.

From an idea to a reusable timer.

The flow is deliberately simple: choose or describe a timer, check the plan, then let BLAST guide the session without demanding your attention.

Who it’s for

Anything that works better in intervals.

BLAST started with workouts, but the same timing model works just as well for study blocks, Pomodoro sessions, meditation, stretching, breathing, rehab routines and other repeatable sessions.

  • HIIT, Tabata and custom interval workouts
  • Pomodoro and focused work sessions
  • Meditation, stretching and breathing routines
  • Anyone who wants cues and controls without staring at a phone

Private by design

Describe It runs on the device. Speech is transcribed locally and the workout plan is generated by the system language model without sending the description to a HanDigi server or a third-party AI service.

Your timer library and workout history live in the app and can sync through your Apple iCloud account. Apple Watch Health access is used for the Watch workout session and recording completed workouts when you choose to use it.

Privacy

Your spoken workout stays on your device.

BLAST uses on-device transcription and the system language model for Describe It. There is no AI API key, no per-request cloud service and no network connection required for that feature. Microphone, speech, Health and alarm permissions are requested only for the features that need them.
